I was honored to have the opportunity to work with fitness expert and star of 10 Pounds Down DVD series, Jessica Smith. I had contributed to many of her health articles as an expert source so she asked if I’d consider working for her on a new project she was developing – a 10-week meal plan (that’s 70 days!)
During our collaboration we explored options, brainstormed ideas, came up with creative strategies – communicating via email (she – EST in Florida and I – Pacific Standard Time in Los Angeles). Through these “chats” and our hard work we came up with a plan that is not only nutritious, but delicious and very user-friendly. Here is “1200 Calorie” sample day menu* from our 60+ page Meal Plan:

*You’ll notice we left a little wiggle room on this one: “Our sample 7-day plan does NOT include liquid calories from milk in your coffee, sugars in your ice tea…most days included here are below 1,200 calories for that reason (so you have a little extra spending room)…”
In addition to a 7-day sample menu, we’ve provided several meal options & recipes, “take out” choices, and snacks for a user-friendly, mix-n-match menu feature for the following 9 weeks. We’ve also included plenty of weight loss advice, tips & tools to keep you on track. Check out the link below for even more great features:

Didn’t know we had a local connection here! Good.
Do you have plans for older people with health issues? Gets really tiresome trying to figure it out for ourselves and stay within budget.
Hello Ella and Don,
That really is a great topic to cover. If you have any specific issues you’d like me to discuss (high cholesterol, high blood pressure, diabetes….etc) please contact me directly at nutrisavvy@att.net
The truth is we all (young and old) should be adhering to a diet that is favorable for optimal cholesterol levels, one that is low in sodium and yes, much lower in added sugars – in general. And if the diet plan (or lifestyle change) is budget-friendly it will be much easier to stay on track.
