I just joined ADA’s Kids Eat Right campaign. Child obesity is such an important issue and as a dietitian I feel I can contribute and become a part of the solution. This week’s topic is on nutrition for athletic teens.

Did you know the  average active teenage boy needs 3000 to 4000 cal/day and the average active teenage girl 2000 to 3000? But that doesn’t mean they should  fill up on pizza, chips and candy bars.
